Murray has been part of the music scene on numerous occasions over the years performing at events including Eric Clapton’s Crossroads Festival and John Prine & The Steeldrivers at the Grand Ole Opry. During his years on “Saturday Night Live,” Murray portrayed Nick the Lounge Singer and entertained guests with songs like “Brandy” and most famously “Star Wars.”
Murray recently made an appearance at the Big Blues Bender at Westgate’s International Theater in September. He joined his Blood Brothers featuring Mike Zito and Albert Castiglia, along with The Bender Brass horn section for a memorable set. In 2017, Murray recorded a studio album featuring singing and literary recitations titled New Worlds with classical musicians’ cellist Jan Vogler, violist Mira Wang, and pianist Vanessa Perez. Bill and the three band members then joined for a world-wide tour in 2018 combining music and poetry. New Worlds: The Cradle of Civilization rolled out also in theaters in cities across the U.S. including New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Atlanta, Las Vegas and more.
